Rebecca Romijn Hopes to be 'Lucky' and Have Kids

Rebecca Romijn says she's glad she's firmly in the adult stage of her life – and ready for the next big step.

"Hopefully, I'll have children, if I'm lucky enough," Romijn, 34, says in the August issue of
Self.

But the confident supermodel-turned-actress – who turns heads as transsexual tycoon Alexis Reade in
Ugly Betty and married Jerry O'Connell last year – didn't always have the world at her feet. As a teenager she suffered from scoliosis, and she never exercised until receiving a tip from another famous fashion face: Elle MacPherson.

"Elle told me, 'You have a nice body. You should really take better care of it,'" Romijn says. "That was the best advice I ever got."

Now, even though she's not a regular on the runways anymore, the self-confessed food-lover still keeps to a good exercise regimen.
